Alan Swenson
About the Artist
Alan Swenson has a talent for drawing and oil painting that goes back to childhood. He has lived in Cody, Wyoming since 1993. He studied art at the University of Minnesota, Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming, and with several of the West’s most esteemed artists, John Giarrizzio, Mel Fillerup and Ned Mueller.
He has won awards in Minnesota and Wyoming, and was featured in American Artist Magazine in February of 2003. Alan has a direct and spontaneous style, while maintaining strong composition, harmony and balance. He shares his love of the craft by teaching local drawing and painting classes. You may catch sight of him in the countryside painting the landscape which is his inspiration.
